Becoming an Entrepreneur

How do you start exploring the possibility of starting your business?

It all starts with an IDEA… and you hope to make an impact

To start a side hustle, you must first test the waters

1. Identify the problem you want to solve

Entrepreneurs understand a problem and are able to create a solution.

Evaluate your idea: is it desirable, visible and viable?

Rate your idea: is it flexible, low start-up cost, scalable, and can bring income?

List your skills: how would you be able to move your idea forward?

2. Go and See, Test!

What are your potential customers’ needs? understand their functional and emotional needs

Your service must make your customers super-powerful; with the product or service you are going to provide, your customers will achieve their “desired outcome”

  • How is your customer feeling"? What are they doing?

  • How do you want them to feel? What are you going to do to make them feel super-powerful?

3. NETWORK!!!

Think about mentors, teammates, volunteers, family, community

How would you find customers?

Where do they gather?

What activities do they do?

What are their problems?

How can you provide solutions?

Check your community, local business associations, and networking groups. Some groups provide mentors for free. Join their networking events.

4. Build your skills

Invest in your own development

If you love the problem enough, you will be willing to learn as much as you can.

Attend webinars, classes, conferences… and talk to people in the industry - conversations accelerate learning.
